Best Hotels Near Delhi Airport: Top Recommendations

I've flown in and out of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport many times over the last four years, and have stayed at or inspected almost every hotel within ten kilometres of Terminal 3. What follows is my working list, rebuilt in long form for anyone trying to figure out where to sleep before, between or after a flight at DEL.

Prices are real April 2026 rates I pulled from direct hotel websites, MakeMyTrip and Goibibo on a Tuesday and a Saturday. They move with the season, but the bands hold up outside peak December and the February wedding rush.

1. Why airport-zone hotels in Delhi are their own category

Delhi is huge. Driving from Connaught Place to Terminal 3 takes 35 to 55 minutes in traffic, and even at 4am you're looking at a 25-minute taxi ride. And so if your flight is before 8am or your layover is under 12 hours, sleeping near the airport stops being optional.

The good news is that Aerocity, the airport hotel cluster, sits five minutes from the T3 forecourt. Most properties there run 24-hour free shuttles. The not-so-good news is that Aerocity rates spike on Friday and Saturday nights because of weddings, so timing matters.

2. The 14 hotels I actually recommend

Grouped by zone. I've skipped a few well-known names that look close on the map but are actually a 45-minute drive in evening traffic.

Aerocity (under 5 minutes from Terminal 3)

This is the cluster I send 70% of my friends to. It sits on NH-8 next to the airport perimeter, in the "Indira Gandhi International Airport Hospitality District."

2.1 Pullman New Delhi Aerocity

  • Weekday rate: INR 8,500 to 10,500 a night
  • Weekend rate: INR 12,000 to 15,000
  • Distance from T3: 1.8 km, free shuttle every 30 minutes around the clock

My default pick for an early flight. Rooms are quiet, shower pressure is real, and the 24-hour Pluck restaurant means a proper meal at 3am instead of airport sandwiches. But staff are used to odd-hour check-ins and hand you an express checkout slip without asking. Gym is 24x7.

2.2 JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity

  • Weekday rate: INR 10,500 to 14,000
  • Weekend rate: INR 17,000 to 22,000
  • Distance from T3: 2.1 km, free shuttle on request

I book JW Marriott when a client is paying or I want a proper sit-down dinner before a flight. And akira Back is one of the better Japanese kitchens in north India. Higher floors facing the garden are quieter than the ring-road side.

2.3 Roseate House New Delhi

  • Weekday rate: INR 11,500 to 14,500
  • Weekend rate: INR 17,500 to 22,000
  • Distance from T3: 2.0 km, complimentary shuttle every 20 minutes

This is the design-forward option in Aerocity. Black stone, water features, a rooftop pool that actually gets used. I like the Del restaurant for breakfast, which is included in most rate plans. The Roseate also has day-use rooms officially listed, which is rare in Aerocity.

2.4 Holiday Inn New Delhi International Airport

  • Weekday rate: INR 6,500 to 8,500
  • Weekend rate: INR 9,000 to 11,000
  • Distance from T3: 1.6 km, free shuttle every 20 minutes

My answer when a friend wants a mid-range one-night airport stop. The shuttle is the most reliable in the cluster, the breakfast is honest North Indian plus continental, and the rooms are sound-insulated. IHG One Rewards Platinum gets lounge access.

2.5 Andaz Delhi by Hyatt

  • Weekday rate: INR 9,500 to 12,500
  • Weekend rate: INR 13,500 to 16,000
  • Distance from T3: 2.3 km, free shuttle on request

Andaz attracts a younger crowd. The AnnaMaya food hall is open till midnight with small-plate regional Indian cooking. Rooms are large for the price band. The negative: weekend weddings push rates up and make the lobby loud.

2.6 Lemon Tree Premier Aerocity

  • Weekday rate: INR 5,500 to 7,500
  • Weekend rate: INR 7,500 to 9,000
  • Distance from T3: 2.4 km, free shuttle every 30 minutes

Lemon Tree is the value sweet spot in Aerocity. But you get an actual hotel experience rather than a glorified guesthouse, the rooms are clean and modern, and the citrus theme is gentle rather than tacky. Skip the in-room dining and walk over to Worldmark food court instead.

2.7 ibis New Delhi Aerocity

  • Weekday rate: INR 4,500 to 5,500
  • Weekend rate: INR 6,500 to 7,500
  • Distance from T3: 2.6 km, free shuttle every 30 minutes

The cheapest reliable option inside Aerocity. ibis rooms are small but well-designed. The Spice It buffet does decent vegetarian food, and the lobby Wi-Fi is fast enough for actual work. So i've had two 4am pickups here and the night staff was awake and ready both times.

Mahipalpur and Vasant Kunj (10 minutes south)

2.8 Hyatt Regency Delhi (Bhikaji Cama Place / Ring Road)

  • Weekday rate: INR 9,500 to 12,000
  • Weekend rate: INR 13,500 to 16,000
  • Distance from T3: 11 km, paid shuttle on request

Further from the airport but with a bigger hotel feel: large pool, multiple restaurants, proper gym. I send people here when they want to mix one airport night with a day in south Delhi. But sunday brunch at La Piazza is one of the better Italian buffets in the city.

2.9 Eros Hotel New Delhi Nehru Place

I keep this on my list only to tell you to skip it for an airport stay. It's a fine business hotel, but Nehru Place is 17 km away and traffic on the Outer Ring Road can turn that into a 50-minute drive. Use it only if your meetings are in Nehru Place itself.

2.10 Caspia Pro Greater Kailash

A cheaper option in south Delhi (around INR 4,200 a night) with a free shuttle to the airport. It's 14 km from T3 and the shuttle runs three times a day on a fixed schedule, so you've to plan around it. Acceptable for a relaxed daytime flight, frustrating for an early-morning departure.

Dwarka (20 minutes west, near Metro)

2.11 Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Aerocity (Dwarka side)

  • Weekday rate: INR 4,500 to 5,500
  • Weekend rate: INR 5,500 to 6,500
  • Distance from T3: 6 km, paid shuttle INR 600

Despite the Aerocity name, this property sits closer to the Dwarka boundary. It's a solid budget pick if Aerocity is sold out, with clean rooms and a small but functional gym. The shuttle is paid but the Uber from here to T3 is also only INR 350.

2.12 Holiday Inn Mayur Vihar Noida

Another one I list to warn you against. It's genuinely 38 km from T3 and a Friday evening drive can take 90 minutes. Don't book this for an airport stay even if the price looks tempting.

Connaught Place (city centre, for tourist + airport combo)

If you've more than 24 hours in Delhi, a city stay plus the Airport Express Metro is often a better play than parking yourself in Aerocity. The Airport Express runs from New Delhi station (next to Connaught Place) to T3 in 22 minutes for INR 80. I've made this run dozens of times with a roller bag and it works.

2.13 The Imperial New Delhi (Janpath)

  • Weekday rate: INR 16,500 to 22,000
  • Weekend rate: INR 26,000 to 32,000
  • Distance from T3: 18 km, paid airport transfer INR 2,500

A 1931 heritage hotel with original art collections, colonial-era architecture, and afternoon tea at 1911 Bar that I go out of my way for. Not cheap, but for a special trip this is the address. Garden rooms are quieter than the main wing.

2.14 The Lalit New Delhi (Barakhamba Road)

  • Weekday rate: INR 12,500 to 16,500
  • Weekend rate: INR 19,000 to 25,000
  • Distance from T3: 17 km, paid airport transfer INR 2,000

200 metres from Barakhamba Metro, two stops from New Delhi station where you catch the Airport Express. Rooms are large, the rooftop pool is a relief in summer, and Baluchi serves some of the better Awadhi food in central Delhi. But hard to beat for a tourist who also needs an easy airport run.

3. Quick comparison table

4. How to choose by trip type

Three rules of thumb I apply to my own bookings.

If your layover is under 12 hours, stay in Aerocity. Pullman or Holiday Inn are my picks because shuttle frequency is round-the-clock. You give up nothing by being next to the runway.

If you've 24 to 72 hours and want tourism, base in Connaught Place. But the Lalit (mid-luxury) or Imperial (splurge) puts you within walking distance of Janpath, Khan Market and India Gate. Use the Airport Express Metro on departure: 22 minutes for INR 80.

If your flight is before 7am, sleep at Pullman, Holiday Inn or Roseate and walk to the shuttle desk yourself 90 minutes before departure. I don't trust the wake-up call alone.

5. Getting between the airport and your hotel

The Airport Express Metro line runs from Terminal 3 to New Delhi station via Aerocity in about 22 minutes. The Aerocity station is a flat 600-metre walk from most of the cluster hotels, although in summer heat I would still take the free shuttle. Tickets cost INR 80 for the full run and you can pay with a contactless card or buy a token at the gate. Plus trains run from 4:45am to 11:30pm.

Uber and Ola from T3 to Aerocity cost INR 250 to 400 depending on time of day. Uber from T3 to Connaught Place is INR 450 to 650. But pre-paid taxis from the airport counter charge a flat INR 700 to 850 for Connaught Place and INR 350 for Aerocity. I prefer Uber for the receipt and the driver rating, but pre-paid is fine when the Uber surge is bad.

6. Day-use rooms and short stay options

Several Aerocity hotels run day-use programmes that are perfect for long layovers without going through immigration. Roseate House, Holiday Inn and ibis all sell day-use blocks of six to eight hours at roughly 60% of the overnight rate. The booking link is usually buried on the hotel's own website rather than on the OTAs, so it's worth a direct phone call. I've used the Holiday Inn day room twice for a 9am to 5pm window and paid INR 4,200 each time, including breakfast.

For a true transit hotel inside the airport, Terminal 3 has the 24-hour Plaza Premium Lounge in the international transit area, plus a few sleep pods at the international arrivals hall on the airside. They aren't luxury but they get the job done if you don't want to clear immigration.

7. Lounge access at Terminal 3

If you're flying Air India from T3, the Air India Maharaja Lounge in the international wing is open to Star Alliance Gold members and Air India business class passengers. Plus it has hot food, showers and sleeping recliners. The ITC Green Lounge and Encalm Privé are independent lounges that accept Priority Pass and DreamFolks cards, which most Indian credit cards now bundle. Encalm in particular has a separate sleeping area with proper beds for an extra fee.

8. Food and shopping near the hotels

Worldmark Aerocity is a small mall next to Pullman and Roseate, with Starbucks, a 24-hour pharmacy, Reliance Smart for groceries, and twenty-odd restaurants from south Indian thali to Mediterranean. I walk over for dinner instead of paying hotel banquet prices.

In Connaught Place, the inner circle has Saravana Bhavan for south Indian and Wenger's for the best chicken patties in the city. Khan Market is 15 minutes by Metro and Bahrisons is my pre-flight bookshop.

9. Avoiding the common booking mistakes

Three errors I see repeatedly. First, people book a Mahipalpur "airport hotel" off OYO that sits inside an unlit access lane that feels unsafe at 3am. Stick to the named brands above for an early flight.

Second, not every hotel with "Aerocity" in the name is in the cluster. Country Inn Aerocity, for example, is closer to Dwarka. But always check the address against Google Maps.

Third, the cheapest day rate ignores weekend wedding pricing, which can double the rate. Book three weeks ahead.

10. Where I have actually slept across these stays

Looking back through my own booking history, my most repeated picks have been Holiday Inn Aerocity (eight nights), Pullman Aerocity (six nights), The Lalit (four nights for combined work-tourism trips) and ibis Aerocity (three budget nights between training sessions). The Imperial I've done only once, for a friend's birthday weekend, and it lived up to the price.

For a deeper Delhi planning piece I've written separately, see my longer guide to where to base yourself in New Delhi. But if you're also planning a Jaipur extension after Delhi, my notes on travel agencies are at Delhi NCR travel agencies for Jaipur and the slightly older version at Delhi NCR for Jaipur, original post. For a luxury comparison across India see best hotels in India for a luxury stay, and if Kolkata is also on your itinerary, Kolkata hotels near tourist sites is the companion piece.

I also keep similar zone-by-zone airport-and-tourist guides for other cities I travel through. If you're mixing Delhi with Europe or the US on the same itinerary, where to stay in London for a 2-day sightseeing tour, cheapest hotels near London tourist attractions, and the best area for tourists to stay in Washington DC follow the same structure as this Delhi piece.

11. Frequently asked questions

Do all Aerocity hotels offer a free airport shuttle?
Most do, but the frequency and timing varies. Pullman, Holiday Inn, Roseate, JW Marriott, Lemon Tree and ibis all run free shuttles. Andaz runs one on request rather than on a fixed schedule, so call ahead. Hyatt Regency Delhi (Bhikaji Cama) and the Connaught Place hotels charge for transfers.

Are day-use rooms available?
Yes, at Roseate House, Holiday Inn Aerocity and ibis Aerocity in particular. Expect 60% to 70% of the overnight rate for a six to eight hour block. Book by phone or via the hotel's own website rather than third-party apps.

Is there a transit hotel inside Terminal 3?
There are sleep pods and the 24-hour Plaza Premium Lounge in the international transit area, but no full-service transit hotel. For a proper bed you need to clear immigration and head to Aerocity.

Can I get into the Air India Maharaja Lounge at T3 without business class?
Star Alliance Gold members can use the lounge on Air India and partner flights. Otherwise no. Encalm Privé and ITC Green Lounge accept Priority Pass and DreamFolks, which most Indian premium credit cards include for free.

Are hourly rooms really a thing?
Officially no in branded hotels, but day-use blocks are the legitimate version of the same idea. Some independent Mahipalpur properties advertise hourly rates online but I would avoid them for safety reasons.

Is the Airport Express Metro safe at night?
Yes, the line operates with security staff and the last train leaves T3 at 11:30pm. Stations are lit and have CCTV. Female solo travellers I've travelled with have used it without issue, including on late flights.

How early should I leave Connaught Place for an international flight at T3?
I leave four hours before departure if I'm taking the Metro and four and a half if I'm taking a taxi during 7am to 10am or 5pm to 8pm peak. The Metro is more predictable than a taxi for the first leg.

Which hotel has the best breakfast for the price?
Holiday Inn Aerocity if you want a hot Indian and continental spread for under INR 9,000 room rate. Roseate House if you're willing to pay INR 11,500 for the rate and want a more elaborate buffet with quality pastries and live cooking stations.

12. My short verdict

For the typical reader landing on this page, the two answers I give 80% of the time are: Holiday Inn Aerocity for a no-fuss, sub-INR-9,000 night before an early flight, or The Lalit New Delhi if you want to combine two days of sightseeing with a smooth Metro ride to T3. Pullman is the upgrade pick for Aerocity, the Imperial is the splurge pick for Connaught Place, and ibis is the honest budget pick if you genuinely just need a clean bed for six hours.

Whatever you book, save the hotel's WhatsApp contact before you fly. Delhi traffic, weather and flight schedules all conspire occasionally, and a hotel that can confirm a 2am late check-in by message has saved me twice in the last year alone.
